Prison Help Hungary was founded by former prison professionals,
an independent advisory service that is reliable, credible and practical
provides support to those individuals and their relatives who are directly affected by

We are aware that the world of correctional institutions is a place for outsiders
often closed, complicated and emotionally burdensome for them. A detention is not only

Our services

The aim of our advice is to make those affected aware of their rights,
with their opportunities and the rules that await them in prison, while
their relatives can also find their way around the system. Our activities include the following
services include:

 

• Professional advice and practical preparation for detention – we explain the admission process, the reception process, the general rules, the institutional structures and the most common difficulties. We help you mentally prepare for the first period.

• Information for relatives – we explain in a clear manner the official forms of contact (telephone, letter, visit, parcel delivery, money transfer), the institutional regulations, and the relatives' room for maneuver in light of the legislation.

In our work, we provide information based exclusively on public, public interest information , based on applicable laws, the Penal Code, and official communications from penal institutions.

 

We do not provide legal representation , do not act before a court or authority, and do not practice law. However, we cooperate with experienced law firms, which we can recommend to provide legal representation if necessary and on a separate assignment.

It is important to emphasize that we do not promise exceptional treatment or special treatment for detained persons. The purpose of our services is not to win benefits, but to provide information, increase awareness and reduce the psychological burden caused by detention within the legal framework. Our services can only be used in the framework of a personal consultation, after an individual needs assessment, on the basis of a written contract.

The basic service fee starts at 40,000 HUF + VAT , which includes the situation assessment, basic information and advice. We will prepare a detailed offer in each case based on the needs and complexity of the case.

Prison Help Hungary provides services only for the period of detention . We do not provide assistance after release , but if required, we will provide guidance on where the person concerned can turn for civil or state reintegration support.
